William and his brothers, John and Samuel, threw themselves into the
hopeless fight of the Bacon Rebellion, loosing all they possessed.
Banished, William settled on the James River near Lynchburg, Virginia amongst rugged wilds and Indians.
My wife's maternal line includes Stephens (maternal grandmother), Barnes (maternal g-grandmother, and Hankins (maternal g-g-grandmother. Theresa's mother's mother was Stella Stephens. Stella's mother was Mary Jane Barnes. Mary Jane's mother was Nancy Ann Hankins. The information on this site related to these three woman was researched over a period of two to three years several years ago. Unfortunately, when my PC crashed several years ago I lost all of my source information. The information stored here is from printouts I have that were printed before the crash.
